I'm Collin Naicker the founder of Odyssey Sound and Lighting, and my journey into this vibrant industry began long before it became a business. From a young age, I was captivated by the power of music and the magic of sound and lighting. As a schoolboy, I would spend countless hours building my music collection, always searching for that next track to add to my growing database.
But it wasn’t just the music that fascinated me. Whenever I stepped into a nightclub or attended a well-produced event, I was in awe of how sound systems and lighting could transform an ordinary space into an unforgettable experience. That amazement sparked a dream — one that started with a small disco setup, simply to fulfill my hobby.
Fast forward 20 years, what began as a passion project has grown into a fully-fledged business that now caters to weddings, pre-wedding nights, birthdays, receptions, afterparties, corporate events, and much more. Today, at the age of 47, I’m fortunate to do what I love every day. Seeing people enjoy themselves, dancing, laughing, and making memories because of the atmosphere we create — that's what drives me.
